The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) was established in 1963 [Resolution 1934(XVI) of 11 December 1963] and is directly administered by the United Nations General Assembly and the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It is the highest-level executive body directly under the United Nations General Assembly.
